Nowadays, high-level biomedical research demands high-cost and complex operation devices. A strategic option is having a shared technological support service, composed of specialized staff, open to all groups. It allows optimization of human resources and equipment. Throughout the last years, several infrastructures partially or totally financed by the IFIMAV have been incorporated in this share-use scheme, as well as specialized staff. These scientific platforms will be expanded and improved in the next years.

Likewise, the operationality and resources of the IFIMAV administrative and management offices have been upgraded. Now it is possible for researchers to access their project budget accounts through a personalized system. Also, a Methodological, Biostatistical and Epidemiological Support Service Unit has been created, for the advisement and training of the professionals in these areas that are essential for the progress of research. Following the same policy, a unified Ethics Committee for Regional Clinical Research was created in May 2004.
